Our day started with a hoard of people slowly moving towards us. Kindda like a scene out of 'Dawn of the dead'. Ok that needs some explanation. There is a car boot sale in Wootton on a saturday and as part of our ...
...mission to raise some cash we went here with some donated goodies, our car and lots of business cards. at 7 in the morning we loaded up, including the canoe on our newly installed roof rack, and set out.
The first person we met, the vendor, just cracked up laughing as soon as he saw us. This was really the start of all the hilarity. We pull into our pitch and here is where it happened. As if pulled by an unnatural force, people started flocking toward the car. Within minutes we had at least 20 people standing staring at our car waiting to see what would happen. Remember this is a about 8 in the morning. As we unrapped they slowly moved on.
But it stayed busy despite being very much toward the back the field. The tombola was again a winner. Through the generosity of the people there we managed to raise over £60 and Ross managed to come up with another one of his favorite sayings. Something about a silly car and a very useful boat or something. So smiles all around.
